New to Australia, Rapid Proof is an official supplier of the first TGA approved combination COVID-19 and Influenza A&B nasal swab self-test kit by Fanttest. Fast. Accurate. Easy to use.
Unlike traditional RATs, the Fanttest COVID-19 / Influenza Antigen Test features an additional line on the cassette that indicates the presence of Influenza A and B.
Fanttest test kits are listed on the ARTG website and are capable of detecting the Omicron variant. It can also identify: Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta variants of COVID-19, as well as Influenza A and B.
Symptoms of COVID-19 and Influenza can be similar. The Fanttest Antigen Test is designed to distinguish between these two respiratory infections.
Quickly determine in 15 minutes whether you may be infected with COVID-19, or if you're experiencing symptoms of the common flu.
All from the comfort of your home.
Similar to most RATs, the swab only has to be inserted into the lower nasal cavity - making collection of the sample simple.
All necessary materials are included within the kit, with only 6 quick and straightforward steps required.
Test determines your infection status and nature with accuracy and precision.
High sensitivity and specificity with up to 96.96% test accuracy.
Approved for use by the TGA.
Remember: Always wash your hands and make sure they are dry before starting the test. All tests are for single use, and should be disposed of after.
First, place extraction tube into the tube stand on the box.
Open up the swab package and take the swab out, remembering not to touch its tip with your fingers.
Slightly tilt your head back, and insert the swab about 1.5-2.5cm into one nostril.
Gently rotate the swab at least five times to collect sample. Repeat with second nostril.
As the extraction tube buffer comes built-in with the testing solution, simply insert the swab into the extraction buffer and allow the swab to stand for 1 minute.
Squeeze the sides of the tube as you remove the swab to extract all liquids.
Press nozzle cap tightly over the tube, and add at least 3 drops to each of the specimen wells on the test casette.
Adding less than 3 drops may result in inaccurate test results.
Only read your test results after 15 minutes.
Do not interpret the results beforehand, or after 20 minutes, even after a faint line has already appeared.
On the test cassette, results will look as follows:
Darkness of the lines may vary, but even a weak or faint line should be considered detection of infection.
Each testing kit contains:
- Test Cassette
- Extraction Buffer Tube
- Disposable Swab
- Biohazard Specimen Bag
- Instructions For Use
Materials required but not provided:
- Timer
Combination RATs utilise a nasal swab, saliva or oral fluid sample to test for multiple viruses that cause respiratory disease (e.g. COVID-19, Influenza A and Influenza B).
Combination RATs are not as accurate as tests done in the laboratory (i.e. PCR tests).
Yes, ALL tests kits on our website are included in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods. Please refer to the resource here.
The tests are most reliable when used by a person with symptoms of a respiratory disease. Rapid antigen tests are generally best performed within the first 7 days from when symptoms first appear for COVID-19, and within the first 4 days from when symptoms first appear for Influenza.
The test cassette should remain in the sealed pouch until use, and once opened, used within one hour. Dispose after use using the biohazard specimen bag.
Fanttest tests have high sensitivity and specificity with up to 96.96% test accuracy.
Rapid antigen self-tests can detect the virus in the acute phase of infection, especially just before you show symptoms or in the first week of symptoms becoming apparent – but they are not as accurate as PCR tests.
False negative results may occur if the level of antigen in the sample is below the detection limit of the test.
Yes, the following SARS-CoV-2 variants can be detected with the COVID-19 Antigen Test Kit: Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta and Omicron.
The tests are only intended to detect COVID-19 and/or Influenza A and B.
You can store the tests between 2°C to 30°C.
Tests should not be frozen or kept in direct sunlight. Do not use the test kit contents after the expiration date printed on the outside of the box.
Home tests may produce an ‘invalid’ test result, which means the test has not worked correctly. Insufficient sample volume or incorrect sample collection are the most likely reasons for the test failure. If this occurs, throw the test away and conduct a new test.
Tests can only be performed by a person over 15 years of age.
Tests on children under 15 years should always be done or supervised by an adult. Not to be performed on children under 2 years of age.
For COVID-19 tests specifically designed for children, we have alternative products such as V-Chek Lollipop COVID-19 Saliva RATs that are non-invasive and suitable for ages 2 and above. Learn more about this test here.
No, the nasal swab is not sharp and it should not hurt.
Sometimes the swab can feel slightly uncomfortable or ticklish. If you feel severe pain, please stop the test and seek advice from a medical professional.
A positive test result will show a line at the region A, B or T. A weak or faint line in these regions must still be considered a positive result.
